I have been doing some re-evaluating lately in all aspects of my life.  One of which, has been my blog.
Today makes the 4 month birthday of my little corner of the blog-o-sphere!  :o)
When I first started this thing..I have no idea as to the direction/tone of it.  It was just something that I had always wanted to do and decided to try it out.  I figured I'd just ramble for a bit about whatever was going on in life and nobody would read it and I could just say I did it, ya know.   The end.
Well, I began reading/following several different types of blogs that I discovered (fashion, crafting, frugal) and was totally inspired by them and applied many of those things/ideas to my life and my blog.  I have really enjoyed doing this and have been encouraged by the general feedback of everyone.  It's so wonderful to run into someone (you don't see often, but keep in touch on Facebook) at the grocery store, and they say
"Hey, I really enjoy reading your blog!"
Well, I feel like lately that the blog has no particular direction/organization/structure (which are the kind of things that OCD'ers like me live for).  I am afraid that it might be coming off in the wrong way or with an intent different from what I want.'s time for a change!
I would like to give this blog a purpose...with a "Lissa" twist.  ;o)

My #1 goal with this blog is to INSPIRE!!
I don't see myself as being anybody special or extraordinary...just a regular (and often times boring) girl.
However, I draw so much inspiration from others (in and out of the blog-world) that to just be able to "pay it forward" in a small way would be my pleasure!

So, here's my plan:
  • Monday's Motivation - I would like to start the week off in a positive way.  If you guys are anything like me, you dread Monday mornings.  You don't want to get out of bed, the weekend went too fast, you still haven't won the lottery so you HAVE to go to work, ect.  I will try to share something(s) or someone(s) that is inspiring, motivating or uplifting me at the moment.  I would also love if you guys would share who/what is giving you motivation and inspiration.   Let's encourage each other!  Perhaps, together, we can turn having a "case of the Mondays" into a good thing!  :o)
  • Tuesday's Tunes -  I don't know about you guys, but music is such an important part of my life.  I feel like I always having to be listening to it in some form or fashion.  Whether I am at my desk, in my car, working out or just cleaning my house...there is music on in the background for sure!  Music is such therapy!  On Tuesdays, I would love to share my current "tunes" with y'all.  It could be a silly song that's been stuck in my head for days, a song I heard that brought a smile to my face, brought back a memory of something or perhaps one that just made me dance around my living room like a fool (that happens pretty much every's not a pretty sight).   Maybe, just maybe it will do the same for you...then we'll sing and dance like fools (virtually) together!  :o)
  • Wednesday's Wear -  One of the changes in me since starting this blog and beginning to read/follow fashion blogs, is that I have started to put effort into my appearance again.  I had lost that for a long time.  I was overweight and unhappy and would just hide myself in my clothes, rather than wear them, if that makes any sense.  Oh, what a change I have made!  I by no means consider myself fashionable, but I am definitely figuring out what MY style is.  I have learned so many things from some great blogs about styling clothes, re-purposing things and just how to be creative in my closet, in general.  It's been life changing!  So, on Wednesdays I'll share with you guys an outfit from the week.  :o)
  • Thursday's Thrifty - I have always thought myself to be a somewhat frugal and thrifty person.  We didn't grow up with a lot of money and I learned a lot of frugal lessons from my Mom and also my Grandparents.  I have carried many of these thru life and along the way picked up some from others or learned a few on my own.  I have applied these to my life and they have helped me immensely!  I would love to share some of these tips with you guys.  In this day and age and with the shaky state of our nation's economy...saving a few dollars here and there never hurt nobody!
  • Friday's Funny -  I love to laugh!  My favorite comedian is Jon Reep.  He is flippin' hysterical!  If there was no laughter and humor in my life, I'd probably shrivel up and die.  I don't really think of myself as a "funny/make others laugh" person, but I do find humor in so many things on a daily basis.  I would love to share with you guys something that made me laugh during the week. Whether it be a joke I heard, a situation I encountered, something Toots said or did (my kid is crazy and unintentionally comical), or a funny that I heard from someone else.  Please feel free to share your funny in return!  :o)
  • Weekend Where - It will be a "Where am I" kind of post of some interesting place I might be or something fun I might be doing at that moment.  I do not have internet at my house (in an effort to be frugal), so it will be done from my phone along with a super crappy cell phone pic (you're welcome).   It will just be a way for me to share a little bit of my weekend life with you guys.  This will hopefully force me to get out more and do more things.  I tend to be a home-body more often then not.  With Summer approaching, there are tons of fun things to do.  I can't wait to get out and enjoy it and share a little bit of it with you guys!  :o)
I would like to thank everyone that takes a moment out of their day to read my blog, follow it and leave super sweet comments.  They really mean so much!  I hope that y'all will continue to follow me on my journey thru my (mostly) boring, (sometimes) crazy and (ALWAYS) blessed by!

I hope you all have the most wonderfullest of weekends!!

P.S.  "From Lissa...with LOVE!!" is now on Facebook.  :o)
