On this day in history (Today)...

Let me start off by saying that I had the crappiest run yesterday.  It was utterly horrid!   I ran my 2 1/4 miles, but it was not all the way thru. I had to stop once to pee and twice to walk for a few seconds.  Needless to say, I was quite disappointed in myself.   I only have 10 days left until the 5K..now is not the time to start sucking it up.  lol  
I was extremely apprehensive about today's scheduled 2 1/2 mile run.   I was afraid I was going to wimp out again and put myself back in my training.  So,  I did 2 things differently today.  First of all, I changed my "pre-workout snack" from a banana to a Snickers Marathon Energy bar (delicious, btw) and instead of drinking water, I tried Powerade Zero.  Well, I'm not sure if it was one or both of the changes, or maybe just sheer determination on my part...but this gal ran the whole 2 1/2 miles...NO STOPS!!  That is a record distance for me!!  I'm so excited and super proud of myself.  Now, that I am on the other side of 2  miles...3.1 is seeming a lot more attainable.  :o)

This is the smile of a girl that KILLED her run!!  :o)

  1. Girl!! That is awesome!! I need to try that Snickers bar... I ran my 2.5 today, but had to take two (yes, TWO!!) short water breaks. Wouldn't it be so cool if we could actually run the entire 3.1 with no breaks???
